BARBARIK; holds a unique characteristic that is distinctive within the industry, against the current and considered barbarous. Their music is peculiar and stands out from the normal mainstream music in society. However, in the context of 'hard rock' music, it is the perseverance to be one in a million in music. BARBARIK is known to be expressive in everything through the depth of 'distortion' and 'amplified sound' as well as extensive vocal volume. To reach out and attract the attention of listeners who are concerned about the meaning of life's struggles.
Two distinguished figures of regional rock music join forces on “PENTAS KERAS” to form an acclaimed brand, BARBARIK. They consist of Jo Branko; composer and producer an ex-guitarist of the renowned band Wings, teaming up with Muss, ex-vocalist of the band: May. Jo Branko, a prominent guitar hero with his roaring yet mesmerizing guitar sounds, accompanied by Muss' high-pitched vocals is a union that rock fans have long awaited and dreamed of.
A familiar name in the rock scene. Starting with the band Scandals, Jo has been with Wings since the album 'Hukum Karma' (1988). The sound of this left-handed player's guitar became a 'signature' to Wings' music. Besides being a guitarist, Jo Branko is also a prolific producer. He acted as producer for 17 Wings studio albums including 'Bazooka Penaka' (1993), 'Orang Asing' (1995), 'Biru Mata Hitamku' (1996), 'Looking for Origins' (1998), 'Mr Barbarik' ( 2000), 'Naga Kramat' (2002) and 'Conquering Kosmos' (2014), the album 'Double Trouble 2' (1998) with Search and including several Wings 'live' albums. In addition, Jo Branko has also produced seven studio albums of several rock groups such as DefGabC and Kristal. Since leaving Wings in 2016, Jo Branko has been active with Prime Domestic and now Barbarik. Jo Branko teamed up with Muss as Barbarik for a concert his fans have been waiting for.
Muss has been the vocalist of May since 1985. Muss joined Wings between 1996 and 2000 and recorded four albums. Muss is considered one of the country's best rock vocalists. The three albums recorded with Wings had a strong impact on Wings fans who were thirsty for harder music. Since leaving May's group in 2019, Muss has been moving solo. This 'Barbarik Pentas Keras' concert will be a field to prove his vocal ability paired with a guitar rendition from Jo Branko.
BARBARIK PENTAS KERAS 2.0
They had joined forces 22 years ago when Muss became the vocalist for three studio albums of the Wings group between 1996 and 2000, when the main vocalist of Wings was absent. Muss is considered one of the best rock vocalists. The album recorded with the group Wings made a strong impact on rock fans who were thirsty for harder music. Now, because of the struggle of rock music that has become flesh and blood for more than 35 years, they are back together. In addition to Jo Branko and Muss as the main lead, BARBARIK PENTAS KERAS 2.0 will also be accompanied by several professional musicians who make up BARBARIK namely Ruzaimi (bass), Adi Yamin (keyboard) and Ainul (drums).
