As part of this year's semi-staged double bill, Singapore Lyric Opera presents the perfect pairing of opera tragedies, Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo's Pagliacci (also known as Cav & Pag).

Cav tells a story of love, betrayal, and revenge in Sicily. Pag tells a dramatic story of infidelity, jealousy, and revenge. The themes of love triangles, domestic violence, adultery, and murder, so intensely portrayed in these operas, also appear in contemporary news headlines.

The semi-staged opera will be sung in Italian, and accompanied by English and Chinese surtitles.
