Meet the Author: Esi Edugyan
Unravelling and reclaiming violent histories of oppression require great care and sensitivity. The 2023 Chair of the Booker Prize and acclaimed writer Esi Edugyan (of Booker-shortlisted novels, Washington Black and Half-Blood Blues) sits down with Anitha Devi Pillai to discuss how historical fiction can tackle complex issues of identity, freedom and power.
Esi Edugyan's participation in this programme is made possible with the support of the High Commission of Canada in Singapore.
This programme is part of the Singapore Writers Festival 2024. Organised by Arts House Limited, it will be held from 8 to 17 November.
