Hot on the heels of the successful staging of Crack the Case: Mind Hunter, Sight Lines Entertainment has returned with another riveting interactive and immersive theatre experience.
At first glance, “Artistic Director” Gautham Dadlani’s enthusiastic self-introduction at the main foyer does not seem like anything out of the ordinary. But soon enough, audiences find out that he is simply acting the part of an artistic director and is in fact a key character—and suspect—in Backstage Betrayal, A Crack the Case Mystery.
The premise follows the imaginary Strawlines Theatre Company and its cast members as they prepare to stage the “Scottish Play” (Macbeth) for the first time. But things take an ugly turn when the leading man collapses on stage and is pronounced dead.

Amid the chaos, the audience meets Detective Maggi Mee Boy, played by Jit Dastidar, who is determined to get to the bottom of this sudden death. To crack the case, he must enlist the help of the audience, who will play detective alongside him, following his every move both inside and outside the theatre in this immersive experience.

Written by Krish Natarajan, Backstage Betrayal promises a suspense-filled experience as audiences get to interrogate suspects, rummage through evidence, and present case findings. Audience members are on their feet throughout and get to comb through every nook and cranny of the venue.
Immerse yourself and come up with theories about the crime!
Suspects plead their cases, provide alibis, or even drop hints that might lead them to the real murderer. The audience is also taken outside the theatre to speak to other characters, played by actors who improvise in response to questions thrown at them by the audience.
