Have a shirt that needs mending, or a piece of apparel you want to beautify? Come join textile artist Izziyana Suhaimi’s workshop to learn how to mend with the use of weaving techniques! In conjunction with GLISTEN by Lisa Reihana, this workshop draws conversations on the  patterns found in the artwork. In this session, Izziyana will share her knowledge on weaving styles and mending techniques, with an emphasis on sustainable practices and the use of recycled materials. Using a mini speedweave loom, participants will get the chance to have a hands-on experience with repurposing old textiles with new and interesting patterns. Whether you are a beginner or someone looking to learn new patterns, this workshop hopes to inspire everyone to tap into their creative spirit through the art of embroidery. Don’t miss this chance to explore traditional craftmanship and sustainable art with Izziyana! Tickets for the workshop are priced at $20 per person. Open to adults and children aged 7 and up. Children must be accompanied by parents/caregivers throughout the programme. While all materials including textiles will be provided, participants are also encouraged to bring their own items they wish to repurpose. Please note that this workshop involves the use of scissors and supervision is required for young children.
