Modelled after Beethoven’s Septet and commissioned by the amateur clarinetist Count Ferdinand Troyer ~ discover the array of string and wind instruments one can find in Schubert’s grandiose six-movement Octet together with the internationally-acclaimed musicians of CMAS !

Only a little more than five feet tall, Schubert was nicknamed ‘Schwammerl’ (little mushroom) by his friends. They were the greatest champions of his music ~ organising ‘Schubertiads’ regular evenings at the homes of wealthy patrons when his music would be shared and discussed.
